FLORENCE, Italy – On Monday, September 8, Accademia del Caffè Espresso reopened its doors to the public after the summer closure, enhancing the visitor experience with new content and new ways to explore. Visitors can now discover the story of La Marzocco and the evolution of coffee in a more flexible way, thanks to self-guided tools and explanatory content that enrich the journey with fresh insights and perspectives, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience at their own pace.

The museum is open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (last entry at 3:30 pm), while guided tours continue to offer an even deeper dive into the company’s history on Mondays and Fridays at 9:30 am and 2:00 pm, and on Wednesdays at 9:30 am.

Since its inauguration in 2021, Accademia has already become an international destination for coffee lovers and visitors from around the world, eager to get closer to the culture of espresso.

This year also marks the launch of Roaster in Residence, the format created by La Marzocco that welcomes guest roasters. At the Gran Bar, alongside the Classic Blend – Accademia’s signature coffee that reinterprets the Italian espresso tradition – guests will now be able to taste two coffees from an external roaster: one served as espresso and one brewed as filter coffee.

The program kicks off with Spazio Caffè Firenze, a Florence-based roastery, presenting two coffees from the Women’s Coffee Project: a natural Brazil offered as espresso and a natural Ethiopia served as filter. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to discover the work of independent roasters and broaden the tasting journey at Accademia. Those interested in applying to the Roaster in Residence program can write to roasterinresidence@accademiaespresso.com.

Accademia is more than just a museum: it offers tastings, training courses, and coffee experiences for both enthusiasts and professionals, as well as the chance to enjoy lunch in a unique space where history and innovation meet. Looking ahead, October will bring Accademia Days, a special occasion filled with new opportunities to gather and share in the name of coffee.
