LOS ANGELES, USA – Nespresso is proud to mark the next phase of its Grounds to Grow LA project with a donation of 100,000 pounds of finished compost – which includes coffee grounds from Nespresso capsules successfully collected and recycled – to LA-based organization, City Plants LA. Following the devastating January 2025 wildfires, Nespresso aimed to leverage its presence in California and coffee as a force for good.

Throughout the fall, Nespresso encouraged California coffee drinkers to become active participants in the city’s environmental recovery by recycling their used capsules of coffee at all 13 Nespresso retail boutiques across the state, including the nine in the southern California area. Compost including Nespresso coffee grounds will contribute to the restoration of soil damaged by the fires and support City Plants’ mission to bring more trees to the area.

City Plants LA manages public-private partnerships that create a greener, more equitable, and climate-resilient city by planting trees. Through the Grounds to Grow project, City Plants will redistribute 100,000 pounds of compost-rich soil to residents living in wildfire-impacted communities.

The compost can be used to remediate contaminated soil ahead of replanting or to save existing trees that survived the fire. It will also be used to grow new trees that will be planted as rebuilding efforts continue. City Plants expects to distribute more than 8,500 trees to residents in Los Angeles and additional trees to residents impacted outside of the city.

This initiative is part of Nespresso’s commitment to make recycling simple and accessible for consumers nationwide. The company works with its longtime commercial recycling and composting partner, AgChoice, to process coffee grounds collected from Nespresso boutiques or through their mail-back program. Beyond the grounds being used to create compost to restore soil health, the aluminum from capsules is separated for reuse, creating new products like pens, bicycles, and cars.

“Compost isn’t just soil—it’s a foundation for growth,” said Carlos Campero, City Plants Executive Director. “This partnership came at the apt time as our team had been assessing soil health, considering how to best revitalize burn areas in Eaton Canyon and Palisades communities, and provide compost to till into existing tree wells as we water. This milestone of 100,000 pounds of recycled coffee ground compost is a testament to what our greater California community can achieve when we come together with shared purpose.”

“Grounds to Grow LA illustrates the power of collaboration between our employees, customers, and partners to address urgent environmental challenges,” said Amy Uong, Senior Recycling Manager at Nespresso USA. “Thank you to all the Nespresso coffee drinkers who contributed to this initiative and continue to recycle their capsules every day. We’re proud to play a small role in supporting the Los Angeles community and hope to continue to grow our recycling participation in the state moving forward.”

LA residents interested in picking up compost to help improve their soil can find adoptions events listed on the City Plants LA website or by contacting the organization at https://www.cityplants.org/.

Consumers can continue to participate in Nespresso’s recycling initiatives by returning used capsules to their local boutiques or exploring the mail-back program.

MILAN, Italy – Bellissimo communication design studio has created the identity and packaging system for Tablì, Lavazza’s new machine and 100% coffee tab system that eliminates wrappers and renews the ritual of coffee at home. After its preview at Milan Design Week 2025, Tablì is debuting across markets with a bold look, designed to be immediately recognizable.

For over a decade, Bellissimo has worked alongside Lavazza on brand identity and packaging projects —including the restyling of Qualità Oro, one of its most iconic blends— and with Tablì, the studio embraced a clear responsibility: to define the visual identity of a true revolution in the coffee world. The project encompasses all product lines, the machine, and accessories, creating a strong and consistent ecosystem across every touchpoint with the public

Tablì is a 100% coffee tab developed by Lavazza following the 2020 acquisition of Italian startup Caffemotive and its ‘tab’ concept.

This marked the start of a process of continuous innovation that revolutionised the original idea, with more than 15 new patents filed and led to the creation of a complete tab and machine system, with new technology to manufacture the tabs and an industrial-scale project that guarantees consistently excellent quality.

Tablì
The new packaging (picture granted)

The result of a perfect synergy between research and design, Tablì consists of an all-coffee ‘tab’ and a specially designed machine with a cutting-edge delivery system

Carlo Colpo, Chief Marketing Officer, Lavazza Group, stated:

“Bellissimo has long been a partner for Lavazza on high-ambition projects. With Tablì, we have taken another important step forward: design has truly met the challenge, enhancing the tab as the central element. It’s a choice that conveys synthesis and clarity — hallmarks of Bellissimo’s approach and of a collaboration that continues to deliver outstanding results.”

Naturally, the packaging design could only begin with the tab — the core element and visual matrix of the system. Its shape organizes the front of the pack into two bands: above, on white, the Lavazza brand and the Tablì logo; below, the individual product identities, each with dedicated colors and contents.

.

Inside the tab lies the project’s key message: “100% coffee,” clearly conveying the extent of the innovation

Bellissimo also designed the new Tablì logo, highlighting its accent mark —transformed into a distinctive feature that changes color across product lines and serves as an immediate identifier.

The use of black on white ensures visual impact and clarity of information in a dense, competitive market. Gold, one of Lavazza’s signature hues, runs as a visual “thread” through the various packs.

Barbara Villanova, Partner & Art Director, Bellissimo, said: “After almost two years of development, it’s thrilling for our design team and the entire studio to see Tablì come to life. The system is revolutionary, and we’re proud to have helped bring to market a one-of-a-kind concept — and to continue our journey alongside Lavazza.”

The launch of Tablì marks another milestone in a shared pathway: the studio will continue to work alongside Lavazza in developing and expanding the system, accessories included

Bellissimo is a communication design studio founded in Torino in 1998. It specializes in brand strategy, visual and verbal identity, packaging, campaigns, events, and content for companies and institutions. In every project, it combines visual impact with clarity in messaging, working on graphics and words in a contemporary, evocative, and poignant style.

WINDSOR, Ontario, Canada – NEXE Innovations Inc., a compostable and innovative materials company, is pleased to announce a significant purchase order of 1.2 million compostable coffee pods from its partner, Bridgehead Coffee (“Bridgehead”), to support Bridgehead’s upcoming launch at Costco, one of Canada’s largest national retailers.

The order marks a significant commercial milestone for NEXE, underscoring the adoption of its proprietary pod technology. The initial shipment of 625,000 BPI-certified compostable pods is intended to support the rollout of Bridgehead’s coffee products in Ontario Costco stores, with additional deliveries expected as the launch expands.

Bridgehead Coffee, a proud Canadian company with more than 40 years of coffee excellence, partnered with NEXE Innovations in 2024 to replace soft-bottom compostable pods with NEXE’s fully compostable, high-performance format.

The BPI-certified compostable pods are engineered to deliver a comparable brewing experience to conventional single-use plastic pods, while breaking down completely in commercial composting facilities, helping divert plastic waste from landfills.

“We believe this purchase order highlights the growing interest in our compostable pod technology and our ability to support retail partners with scalable solutions,” said Ash Guglani, President of NEXE Innovations. “The initial shipment of 625,000 BPI-certified compostable pods is expected to support the rollout of Bridgehead’s coffee products in Ontario Costco stores, with additional deliveries expected as the launch expands.”

Bridgehead Coffee, a Canadian brand recognized for its ethical sourcing and sustainability leadership, partnered with NEXE in 2024 to transition from soft-bottom compostable pods to NEXE’s next-generation, fully compostable format. Under a two-year master manufacturing agreement signed in December 2024, NEXE produces Bridgehead’s leading blends, Centro House and Bytown Boom, in its proprietary pod.

ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire – On a quiet morning in Gnamagnoa, in western Côte d’Ivoire, farmer François Dadi Serikpa harvests his coffee. The former bus driver switched to coffee farming after his retirement. The father of twelve children and grandfather of twenty-one grandchildren, has found new meaning in life and newfound prosperity thanks to the Nescafé Plan, a global initiative launched by Nestlé to make coffee farming more sustainable, fair and environmentally friendly.

He says: “With the Nescafé Plan, Nestlé agronomists taught us how to care for our soil, plant new varieties and better manage our plantations. Now my trees are more resistant, and my production has improved. Coffee is our life: it feeds us, clothes us and gives us hope for the future.”

Serikpa’s experience reflects the reality of thousands of people involved in the coffee industry in Côte d’Ivoire.

At every stage of this sector, namely agricultural production, processing and marketing, Nestlé is committed to participating in their development, aware that they represent an entire economy in Côte d’Ivoire. With its Nescafé brand, the company has been present in Côte d’Ivoire for more than 65 years, contributing to job and business creation. This commitment begins at the soil level.

An industry rooted in the soil

The tropical climate and fertile soil of Côte d’Ivoire make it an ideal place for growing Robusta coffee, which dominates local production. However, the industry has faced considerable challenges. In 2000, the country produced nearly 380,000 tonnes of coffee, ranking it among the top African producers. By 2023, production had fallen to just under 47,000 tonnes, a decline attributable to ageing plantations, climate change, limited access to finance and competition from other crops.

Despite this slowdown, coffee remains an important commodity in the country. It supports tens of thousands of rural households and contributes to regional trade in Central and West Africa. Domestic consumption has grown steadily. In 2025, coffee consumption in Ivory Coast is projected to reach approximately 1.38 million kilograms, generating $32.13 million in total revenue across both at-home and out-of-home markets (https://apo-opa.co/43N8npf).

Building resilience through training

To address decline in the industry, public and private stakeholders have implemented programmes focused on sustainable development and productivity. The Nescafé factory in Abidjan has been producing instant coffee from locally grown coffee beans for over 65 years. It employs hundreds of people and trains talent in Côte d’Ivoire. These employees are mainly Ivorian, but also include other nationalities, some of whom have become certified coffee experts. In 2022, the factory received the Ivorian Government’s national award for excellence for its efforts in waste reduction, economy, energy and responsible operation.

Every second, around 5,500 cups of Nescafé are enjoyed around the world. In Central and West Africa, many of these cups began their journey in Ivory Coast, cultivated by local farmers, processed by Ivorian experts and sold by Ivorian entrepreneurs.

Through the Nescafé Plan, Nestlé supports more than 21,000 coffee-producing families in Côte d’Ivoire. Farmers receive practical training from agronomists on practices that comply with the Common Code for the Coffee Community (4C standards), which aim to make coffee production more sustainable, fair and traceable.

To improve productivity, farmers receive high-yield Robusta seedlings developed at Nestlé’s Research and Development Centre in Zambakro. These efforts are carried out in partnership with the Coffee-Cocoa Council (CCC) and the National Centre for Agricultural Research of Côte d’Ivoire (CNRA).

Nestlé also sources green coffee directly from farmer cooperatives through its Farmer Connect programme.

For farmers like Serikpa, these Nestlé interventions have led to a significant improvement in yields, which can range from 600 to even 1200 kg per hectare depending on climate conditions. Through its entrepreneurship support initiative, called My Own Business, Nestlé supports more than 600 urban hot coffee vendors by providing them with equipment and training, as well as a cart or coffee stand, enabling them to run their own businesses and generate stable incomes. This programme has proven beneficial for young people wishing to integrate into the social and economic fabric. Kamenan Assanvo, one of these entrepreneurs, received ten new coffee carts to develop his network in Greater Abidjan. He owns a total of 45 businesses. This year, there are 80 coffee stands run by young vendors, thereby contributing to the development of street businesses and local employment.

Mame Pane Sakho, Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Nestlé Côte d’Ivoire, said:

“We believe that investing in local farmers and entrepreneurs is essential to building a strong and sustainable coffee industry. It’s not just about coffee; it’s about creating a lasting impact in the communities we serve.”

The history of Nescafé in Côte d’Ivoire is an example of shared value. From the Serikpa plantation in Gnamagnoa to the Assanvo coffee stands in Abidjan, each cup reflects a shared commitment to quality and collaboration.

WINDSOR, Ont., Canada – NEXE Innovations Inc., a compostable and innovative materials company, is pleased to announce its financial results for the three-month period ended August 31, 2025 (“Q1 2026”). The Company reported revenue growth, a positive gross margin, maintained a strong balance sheet, and achieved a major third-party Food Safety Audit milestone which we believe reflects progress in operational compliance and commercial readiness.

Q1 2026 Results:

  • Revenue Growth: Revenue increased to $120,484, compared to $3,147 in Q1 2025, reflecting continued adoption of NEXE’s next-generation compostable coffee pod launched in late 2024.
  • Positive Gross Margin: NEXE reported its first-ever positive gross profit of $16,453 with a 13.7% gross margin, which we believe represents an early step toward scalable profitability.
  • Cost Control: Selling, general, and administrative expenses decreased 3% year-over-year to $735,484, driven by disciplined management of professional fees and salaries.
  • Strong Liquidity: NEXE maintained a solid balance sheet with $11.45 million in cash and GIC investments, and minimal debt.
  • Food Safety Certification: Successfully passed a third-party Food Safety Small Supplier Audit—a requirement for one of North America’s largest retailers—achieving an overall 99% pass rate.

“This quarter marks an important step forward for NEXE,” said Ash Guglani, President of NEXE. “We achieved positive gross margins, expanded our partnerships, and demonstrated compliance with leading food safety standards. With a strong balance sheet and what we believe is growing market interest, we are well positioned to continue building momentum toward our long-term growth goals.”

In Q1 2026, NEXE’s revenues increased to $120,484, up from $3,147 in Q1 2025, as production ramps up for the next-generation BPI-certified compostable coffee pod. We expect revenues to continue to improve, as the Q1 period, particularly June, is a seasonally weak time for the coffee industry. Since the end of Q1, NEXE has received purchase orders that exceed Q1 2026, and customers have begun placing repeat orders. NEXE also announced a new partnership with a West Coast–based roaster—a respected British Columbia company recognized for its sustainability leadership and commitment to the circular economy—with an initial purchase order of 100,000 compostable pods.

In Q1 2026, NEXE allocated resources to work with one of our customers to conduct a food safety supplier audit for one of the largest North American retailers. NEXE successfully passed the Food Safety Small Supplier Audit conducted by a third-party verifier with an overall pass rate of 99%, scoring 100% in seven out of the nine categories. We believe this will benefit all of our customers, as they can target one of the largest North American retailers and retail distribution channel to shelf their products, using the NEXE Pod. We expect this will encourage more coffee companies and brands to consider transitioning to the fully compostable NEXE Pod.

As our partners and customers continue to transition their coffee products to our compostable technology and we onboard new customers, we have observed an increase in inbound inquiries. One of our main customers, which initially started working with us at the beginning of calendar year 2025, had initially transitioned six SKUs, and by the end of November 2025 we expect it will increase to 17 SKUs.

As NEXE continues to scale its operations, it remains focused on cost management, process optimization, and operational efficiency. The Company reported positive gross profit for the first time, amounting to $16,453 and a gross margin of 13.7%. Selling, general, and administrative costs were another highlight of cost control decreasing by 3% to $735,484 from the year-ago period. A key investment focus is R&D, where NEXE continues to develop its compostable technology platform to target new verticals.

At the end of Q1 2026, our total cash is $2,780,912, and GIC investments are $8,673,468, with minimal debt and commitments. Based on our current expected volumes and cost structure, we believe there is sufficient funding to meet our strategic priorities in the short-term.

The Company’s Q1 2026 financial statements and related management’s discussion and analysis are available on NEXE’s SEDAR+ profile at www.sedarplus.ca and the Company’s website at www.nexeinnovations.com.

MONTREAL, Canada – This festive season, Nespresso uncovers Magic in the Making, a celebration of every step, ritual and moment leading up to joyful gatherings, where coffee plays an integral part. This new collection includes a trio of limited-edition coffees—a black coffee and two new flavoured blends—alongside the new Barista Mixologist Stemmed Glasses and a selection of beloved Nespresso favourites that are sure to surprise and delight.

Wrapped in vibrant packaging by Kenyan artist Thandiwe Muriu, whose work draws inspiration from the coffee flower, this collection brings colour, craft, and a sense of wonder to the end-of-year celebrations.

The collection comes to life through Nespresso’s Atelier of Wonders, where machines spring to life and a magical conveyor belt sets the festive journey in motion.

As Nespresso gifts are meticulously assembled at each station of the atelier, the campaign beautifully captures the cheerful moments of the season: the excitement of counting down the days, the joy of finding the perfect gifts, wrapping them with care, and preparing delightful recipes for the grand occasion. After all, a celebration transcends the day itself; it encompasses every enchanting moment along the way.

Inspired by the magic of the festive season, Nespresso unveils its Festive Collection of limited-edition coffees, including two flavoured blends, crafted to surprise every taste in the household.

The Festive Espresso for Original and Festive Double Espresso for Vertuo open a world of marvel, boasting an exquisite Arabica blend of African coffees from Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. With an aromatic symphony of cereal and fruity notes, enhanced by delicate woody and caramel undertones, this coffee can be enjoyed on its own or as a Latte Macchiato.

Embark on a journey filled with wonders with the Sweet Almond and Hibiscus Flavoured coffee. This unexpected flavoured blend captures the delightful flavour of sweet almond, followed by a floral aftertaste of hibiscus. Or, enchant your senses with the Cinnamon and Candied Tamarind Flavoured coffee. The delightful warmth of spicy cinnamon and the sweet, jammy flavour of tamarind create a harmonious blend that embodies the essence of the season.

WINDSOR, Ontario, Canada – NEXE Innovations Inc., a company focused on compostable materials and sustainable coffee solutions, announced today that it has received a repeat purchase order for ~250,000 BPI-certified compostable coffee pods from a North American office coffee services (OCS) and retail distributor. This follows an earlier delivery of 80,000 compostable coffee pods for three new SKUs on October 22, 2025, signaling growing demand.

The BPI-certified compostable pods are produced for a recognized coffee brand distributed by NEXE’s OCS partner, which works with over ten major brands across North America. With each new rollout, NEXE believes it is expanding its reach and strengthening its role as a supplier of compostable coffee pods. This order for ~250,000 compostable coffee pods is for 9 different SKUs.

“These orders reflect the operational progress of the Company and the growing customer confidence and interest in our products,” said Ash Guglani, President of NEXE Innovations.

“Onboarding new partners is a detailed process that takes time, including establishing product integration, testing, and scaling orders, but once complete, it often leads to recurring orders. We believe this steady progress is beginning to result in measurable business activity and enhanced customer engagement.”

NEXE has also onboarded a new West Coast–based roaster which is a respected British Columbia company recognized for its sustainability practices and commitment to the circular economy with an initial purchase order of 100,000 compostable pods.

This marks another win in NEXE’s strategy to broaden its North American footprint and drive repeat business through long-term partnerships. We will provide more details closer to the roaster’s product launch.
