Across six episodes, documentary maker James Harper offers free educational audio stories for coffee professionals who enjoy learning about science.<\/p>\n<p>An unmissable opportunity for those who want to learn about the supply chain and the work behind a simple cup, which can also be enjoyed by the end consumer in a format that has worked very well in recent years.<\/p>\n<h3>The Science of Coffee: the first few episodes have been heard close to 20,000 times<\/h3>\n<p>And, as Harper said: &#8220;I expect this six episode series to reach over 100,000 downloads in the next two years&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The first series covers the science of water, extraction, genetics, latte foam, espresso technology and sonic seasoning.<\/p>\n<h3>The project has been supported editorially by Peter Giuliano<\/h3>\n<p>(Coffee Science Foundation) and Britta Folmer (Author, The Craft and Science of Coffee), and James spent most of 2022<br \/>\ntraveling across Europe and Africa, and investing over 500 hours of work.<\/p>\n<p>Listeners have a chance to learn from Chahan Yeretzian and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.comunicaffe.com\/smrke-the-grinding-has-a-high-impact-in-the-exctraction-from-capsules\/\"> Samo Smrke<\/a> at the Coffee<br \/>\nExcellence Centre in Zurich, Bill Ristenpart of UC Davis, historian Jonathan Morris, leading<br \/>\ncross modal research figures such as Charles Spence, Fabiana Carvalho, Janice Wang, as<br \/>\nwell as geneticists Aaron Davis, Sarada Krishnan, and many more.<\/p>\n<p>You can download and listen to the episodes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/filterstories.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Filter Stories website<\/a>, or through all<br \/>\ngood podcast players including: Apple, Google, and Spotify.<\/p>\n<p>James posts visuals illustrating the podcasts on his Instagram page: <strong>@filterstoriespodcast<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MILAN &#8211; James Harper is the creator of The Science of Coffee, a new podcast series about coffee\u2019s hidden, microscopic secrets.
