MILAN – James Harper is the creator of The Science of Coffee<\/strong>, a new podcast series<\/a> about coffee\u2019s hidden, microscopic secrets. Across six episodes, documentary maker James Harper offers free educational audio stories for coffee professionals who enjoy learning about science.<\/p>\n

An unmissable opportunity for those who want to learn about the supply chain and the work behind a simple cup, which can also be enjoyed by the end consumer in a format that has worked very well in recent years.<\/p>\n

The Science of Coffee: the first few episodes have been heard close to 20,000 times<\/h3>\n

And, as Harper said: “I expect this six episode series to reach over 100,000 downloads in the next two years”.<\/p>\n

The first series covers the science of water, extraction, genetics, latte foam, espresso technology and sonic seasoning.<\/p>\n

The project has been supported editorially by Peter Giuliano<\/h3>\n

(Coffee Science Foundation) and Britta Folmer (Author, The Craft and Science of Coffee), and James spent most of 2022
\ntraveling across Europe and Africa, and investing over 500 hours of work.<\/p>\n

Listeners have a chance to learn from Chahan Yeretzian and Samo Smrke<\/a> at the Coffee
\nExcellence Centre in Zurich, Bill Ristenpart of UC Davis, historian Jonathan Morris, leading
\ncross modal research figures such as Charles Spence, Fabiana Carvalho, Janice Wang, as
\nwell as geneticists Aaron Davis, Sarada Krishnan, and many more.<\/p>\n
