{"id":202189,"date":"2025-10-21T00:55:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T22:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comunicaffe.com\/?p=202189"},"modified":"2025-10-21T12:09:56","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T10:09:56","slug":"world-of-coffee-and-the-world-brewers-cup-head-to-bogota-colombia-in-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comunicaffe.com\/world-of-coffee-and-the-world-brewers-cup-head-to-bogota-colombia-in-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"World of Coffee and the World Brewers Cup head to Bogot\u00e1, Colombia in 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MILAN, Italy \u2013 During the first round of the <strong>2025 World Barista Championship at HostMilano<\/strong>, <strong>Specialty Coffee Association<\/strong> (SCA) CEO <strong>Yannis Apostolopoulos<\/strong> and <strong>Colombian Coffee Growers Federation\/Federaci\u00f3n Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia<\/strong> (FNC) CEO <strong>Germ\u00e1n Alberto Baham\u00f3n Jaramillo<\/strong> took to the competition stage to jointly confirm and announce <strong>World of Coffee Bogot\u00e1 2027<\/strong> featuring the 2027 World Brewers Cup, set to take place over three days from September 30 \u2013 October 2, 2027 in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>This significant event will mark a new era in the SCA and FNC partnership as the two organizations will work in tandem to bring global specialty coffee professionals and world competitors to a vibrant South American city in one of the world\u2019s top coffee-producing countries.<\/p>\n<p>This event will be the second <strong>World of Coffee event<\/strong> taking place in a <strong>Latin American<\/strong> <strong>producing country<\/strong> following the much-anticipated <strong>World of Coffee Panama 2026<\/strong> featuring the 2026 World Barista Championship set to take place next year.<\/p>\n<p>The presence of the <strong>2027 World Brewers Cup<\/strong> will also mark the celebrated return of a significant World Coffee Championships competition to <strong>Bogot\u00e1<\/strong>, with the 2011 World Barista Championship having taken place sixteen years previously.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, the <strong>SCA and FNC<\/strong> have collaborated on numerous projects, having most recently signed a landmark <strong>Memorandum of Understanding (<\/strong>MoU) focusing on the implementation of the SCA\u2019s Coffee Value Assessment methodology within the FNC\u2019s processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World of Coffee Bogot\u00e1 2027<\/strong> will be open to exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees from across the specialty coffee value chain and all attendees will have the opportunity to watch World Brewers Cup performances and announcements at the World Coffee Championships stage at the show.
